Good morning! I’m going to be seeing (and drinking) a lot of this in my future. Good thing it’s one of my favorite things! Yesterday I started my post-holiday juice fast that I’ve been putting off for a little while now. I knew my body was asking for it, but it just didn’t feel like the right time- or more like I didn’t want it to be the right time! Starting a fast is usually the hardest part because it takes the motivation and discipline to get it going, but once you get past the first 2 or 3 days it’s much easier and you really get into your groove. Yesterday that inspiration finally hit me, so I ran with it!
Holidays (and modern life in general) can be very busy and extremely focused around food, which usually leaves people feeling worn out and weighed down-myself included. I’m really looking forward to rebalancing my entire body, mind, and spirit throughout this fast. As some of you may know, I include a lot of fasting in my regular routine already, but this longer one is especially important and really quite necessary. A life changer, if you will. I will share more about that in future posts!
I don’t have a certain amount of days set in stone, but rather will be listening to my body very closely. Once you get in tune with your body’s true needs, it’s really cool to be able to listen to it, trusting that you are doing what’s best for your highest good. It’s taken me years to get to that point and it’s been a journey indeed, but I wouldn’t change it for anything. The payoff is beyond worth it! Knowing your body’s true needs and actually following them can be a different story.. like how I put off this fast even though I knew I needed it. But that’s something else I can share in future posts as well 😉 Being gentle and understanding with yourself is key. I’ve definitely learned that over the years and am always still learning.
If anyone feels inspired to join in, the more the merrier! I have a few friends starting with me today and am excited to have them on board. There is power is numbers my friends! I’m also looking forward to featuring them as guest bloggers during the fast so they can share their experiences too :0) More to come!
